Second hand coops conundrum...

Thinking of buying a second hand coop? I am all for recycling but during an avian influenza risk period please think twice and do the following BEFORE you use it....

1. Dry clean it first - remove all faeces and other material using a scraper and even sand paper.

2. Scrub all surfaces with a washing up liquid.

3. Rinse and repeat washing until all surfaces are visually clean.

4. Dry all surfaces.

5. Disinfect all surfaces with a DEFRA approved disinfectant that has been made up to the CORRECT concentration.

6. Dry all surfaces.

7. Heavily varnish wooden surfaces.

8. Sit back and relax!
