Coelomic conditions like salpingitis, tumours and ascites are common, especially brown/rescue hens. This course will explain what is going wrong inside to help you identify problems early. We will also cover appropriate diagnostics to confirm problem so you are better prepared when you see your vet.

These are online classes with a small group of people and their hens. We will be interacting and doing tasks together.
Who is this course suitable for?
This course is perfect for pet chicken owners who would like to learn more about what major problems can occur inside adult hens. This course is especially relevant to those with rescue laying hens or brown/hybrid hens as these conditions are particularly common in older birds of this type.
If you are less familiar with chicken anatomy and recognising clinical signs, please complete the “Introduction to Chicken Health – Identifying illness” course first. Then you will get the most out of this session.
